Summary

Lead the strategy development and execution for medical society engagement, and end-to-end congress plans for Novartis' priority assets in alignment with the Therapeutic Area (TA) strategy. Lead cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation for medical society partnerships and congresses.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Lead development of Medical Society Partnerships strategy & plan in collaboration with TA to deliver on objectives of priority assets & disease areas.
  • Accountable for development and implementation of end-to-end congress plan, in partnership with TA and cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial Launch Strategy (CLS) and Customer Market Activation (CMA).
  • Build and lead partnerships with key international medical societies, in collaboration with TAs aligned with priority assets & disease areas.
  • Use a deep understanding of the mission and vision of key international medical societies, to develop individual engagement plans that foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Lead development and implementation of congress impact plan, to assess performance indicators, including insight generation and customer experience, and optimize resource planning.
  • Drive best practice through partnerships with third party organizations, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders, including CMA, to continuously innovate and optimize HCP engagement and customer experience in the congress channel.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and Novartis requirements for medical society partnerships and congress such as NVS policies and relevant guidance

Requirements :

  • 7+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry or healthcare related, ideally in medical affairs and/or medical information.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD) or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare is preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and proven ability to work in a complex matrix organization across functions, therapeutic areas, regions, and countries.
  • Must be able to adapt, organize, prioritize, and work effectively on multifunctional teams in a constantly changing environment
  • Proven experience in Medical Affairs or External Affairs with demonstrated ability to build external partnerships.  
  • Strong track record
  • Understanding of the role of medical societies with deep understanding of industry sponsored activities, including external medical education programs.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strategic mindset including innovation and critical thinking with performance-oriented drive.
