Summary

The Associate Director, Health Information Technology will be responsible for serving as a training advisor and technical support to the broader Novartis Market Access organization to help them understand various EHR technologies and appropriate situational application. This individual will also provide input into development of approved, scalable, EHR enabled tools and resources in relation to key therapeutic area.

Candidate must live/work in designated territory: Central Region: TX, MN, IA, MO, AR, LA, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND

This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on le-gal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 30% travel.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • This individual will provide input into development of approved, scalable, EHR enabled tools and resources in relation to key therapeutic area
  • The AD HIT will serve as liaison across business units for the Regional Account Team engagement of EHR/HIT related resources
  • The Associate Director of Health Information Technology (AD HIT) will work with identified accounts within the Market Access, Regional Account Team, to help harness their HIT infrastructure to improve diagnosis, treatment and management of patients within disease states that align to the Novartis portfolio. This includes multiple therapeutic areas
  • The Associate Director Health Information Technology (AD HIT) will serve as a Novartis Liaison working with customer's representatives (i.e.CIO, CMIO, Quality Director, EHR/EMR Vendors, etc.) responsible for Electronic Health Record (EHR) related tasks for projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health Information Technology (HIT), health care systems, electronic health records (EHR)
  • Significant experience in the functional and technical application of Health Information Technology
  • Implementing EMR/EHR applications; Clinical integration
  • An understanding of the Health IT landscape including inter-relationships of the players within the health information technology space; vendors, third-party data sources, etc
  • Knowledge of the impact of healthcare reform initiatives on the healthcare environment including Accountable Care Organizations (ACO’s), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN’s), medical groups, pharma, payers, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills are necessary to lead diverse needs, meet deadlines and monitor and evaluate results; Excellent presentation skills required
  • 30-50% travel necessary and a valid driver’s license to drive a company issued vehicle.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400.00 and $249,600.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors
